31 FilesYog-Sothoth
The Gate and the Key. Coterminous with all time and space. The entity that can be summoned.
Worms of Ghroth
Pale, bone-colored heralds that arrive before Ghroth does. They do not move. They do not eat. Kill one and the world has more of them, not fewer. The Bureau's standing order on a worm sighting is a single word: don't.
Un-Men
Hybrid creatures bred by the Ancients. Surgically modified human stock. Loyal because they have no other option.
Ubbo-Sathla
The Unbegotten Source. A vast protoplasmic mass at the start of life. Possibly the ancestor of every living thing on Earth.
Tsathoggua
The sluggish, toad-like god who sleeps in N'kai and has not been hungry for several thousand years.
The Beyond One
A unique servitor of Yog-Sothoth. Picks up gates between worlds and moves them. Exists in the relationships between places rather than at any place.
Star-spawn of Cthulhu
Cthulhu's kin and lieutenants. Sleep with him in R'lyeh. Wake when he wakes. There are more than there should be.
Shub-Niggurath
The Black Goat of the Woods with a Thousand Young. The most worshipped entity outside the R'lyeh cults.
Shoggoths
Protoplasmic slave-creatures bred by the Elder Things. They rebelled. They survived. They are still down there.
Set (Stygian)
The serpent god of Stygia. Related to but distinct from the later Egyptian Set. Still active through successor cults.
Serpent Men
Pre-human reptilian civilization. Documented independently by Howard and Lovecraft. Wore the faces of men long before men existed to wear them.
Nyogtha
The Thing That Should Not Be. A blob of living darkness that hates light and inhabits the deep cellars of old houses.
Nyarlathotep
The Crawling Chaos. Messenger of the Outer Gods. The only entity that walks among us willingly.
Night-Gaunts
Faceless winged servitors of the Dreamlands. They carry dreamers away and do not explain where.
Mother Hydra
Dagon's consort. Mother to the Deep Ones. The hybridization program is hers.
Leng Spiders
Massive intelligent spiders from the Plateau of Leng. Web-makers, ambushers, and the only thing on Leng the night-gaunts are afraid of.
Ithaqua
The Wind-Walker. He stalks the polar wastes and takes humans into the sky. The ones he returns are wrong.
Hastur
The King in Yellow. He Who Is Not to Be Named. The entity behind the play that destroys minds.
The Great Race of Yith
Time-traveling anthropologists who possess the bodies of other species to document history. Authors of the Pnakotic Manuscripts.
Ghouls
Corpse-eating tunnel-dwellers beneath the old cities. Dreamlands citizens. Most of them were once human, and the transformation is not always accidental.
Ghatanothoa
Eldest spawn of Cthulhu. To look upon him is to become a living husk — flesh petrified, mind preserved, awareness intact.
Ghasts
Pale hopping scavengers from the Dreamlands underworld. Stupid, numerous, and active only in the dark.
Fungi from Yuggoth
Extraterrestrial crustacean-fungi from Yuggoth. Mine rare minerals in Earth's mountains, occasionally remove human brains for transport. Not hostile so much as indifferent.
Deep Ones
Aquatic humanoid servitor race. Worship Dagon and Cthulhu. Interbreed with surface populations when the arrangement suits them.
Dark Young
Ambulatory tree-things bred by Shub-Niggurath. Ritual witnesses, sacrificial altars, and occasionally the thing in the woods the witnesses were warned about.
Dagon
Father Dagon. Patron deity of the Deep Ones. The thing in the water off Innsmouth.
Cthulhu
High priest of the Great Old Ones. Dead but dreaming in the sunken city of R'lyeh.
Bubastis
The Cat Mother. Pre-dynastic Egyptian entity. Operates through the cats themselves. The feline domestication was not voluntary — on which side is the question.
Azathoth
The Blind Idiot God. Nucleus of all reality. Seated at the center of ultimate chaos.
Atlach-Nacha
The Spider-God. Spinning a single web across the gulf between worlds. When the web is complete, the worlds will touch.
Abhoth
The Source of All Uncleanness. A pool of formless flesh that perpetually births and reabsorbs its own offspring.
